Do you ever struggle with feelings of dread and fear? Or do you worry about upcoming events, presentations, or situations? The instant cure for worry is immediate action. The great thing is, is it doesn’t matter what kind of situation you have to deal with, immediate action is the cure.

Worrying fixes nothing. It doesn’t improve or change a situation. As a matter of fact it only makes it worse. The only cure for feelings has been, and forever will be action. Action is the only known cure for worry.

For example, let’s say you wanted to lose weight or you’re worried about the weight you have gained in the past few years. You could continue to worry about how it is getting worse, avoid the scale and the gym. But , that only keeps the worry in place. The other option of course is to take action! You could look up a simple weight loss plan online, head to YouTube to find a work out video and throw out all of the unhealthy food in your home. Any one of these actions would eliminate the fear and worry you were focused on because now you’re working toward a goal.

Maybe you have a big presentation coming up and you’re nervous about public speaking. Instead worrying you should practice. Record your presentation and watch it to see where you can improve. Do this until you’re satisfied and feel prepared. You could also go out and get a book on public speaking or giving great presentations. Read the book and use some of those tips to improve your presentation. Again, the cure to worry is taking action. Learn how to improve your skills and become better in the area you are worried about and you will start to worry less because you are focused on action.

The mind can only focus on one thing at a time. If you focus on worry you will only get more of it. If you focus on action you will eliminate the worry because all of your attention will be on the task at hand. Focus on finding a solution. The sooner you take action the quicker your worry will go away.
