Are you creating a comfort zone for success or failure?

Are you creating a comfort zone for success or failure? Not sure what I mean? Here’s an example:

I went to the gym a few days ago (which I hadn’t done in a while) and decided to work on my abs. Unsurprisingly, my whole body was sore for a few days. So, why was I sore? I had created a comfort zone that didn’t involve taking care of my body. If I want washboard abs and eight percent body fat I need to create a comfort zone where regular trips to the gym are the norm.

What most people don’t realize is discomfort, while only temporary, is a part of transitioning from any comfort zone to another. If I were to create a comfort zone that involved regular trips to the gym my body would adjust and missing a workout would lead to me feeling terrible. I’d feel guilty, sick to my stomach and my confidence would go down. Or in my current situation my abs (really my whole body) hurts. The important thing to remember is creating the right comfort zone will help you accomplish your goals.

This idea of creating a successful comfort zone can easily be applied to the business world as well. You have to choose to focus on income producing activities for your business comfort zone. As an example let’s say you don’t like making sales calls. However, making sales calls is what brings your business the most profit. You have to start setting time aside to pick up the phone and make those calls. Do that consistently and in no time that activity will be part of your comfort zone.

Decide today if you want to create a comfort zone for success over failure!
