It’s 2016 and undoubtedly you’ve made some New Year’s resolutions for your personal life and small business.

2016 offers opportunities for growth, development and even new business ventures.

For the majority of entrepreneurs, this is a time to plan out our business activities and develop a solid plan of action.

The following post outlines five productivity and planning tips that you can use to crush it in 2016.

Productivity Tips:

  1. Establish morning and evening routines
Establishing routines especially in business will help you be more consistent.
  2. A
  3. Use productivity apps
I am a techie. I believe in leveraging apps to run my business efficiently and effectively.

One of my absolute favorite productivity apps (and one I recommend most often) is Evernote.

With Evernote you can create notebooks to organize information and store in a consolidated workspace you can access from any Internet connected device whenever you need.

  4. Outsource repetitive tasks and smaller projects to freelancers
Often times small business owners suffer from the Superman syndrome where we try to do everything on our own.

Believe me when I tell you it is impossible. I’ve always believed in operating within my strengths and outsourcing my weaknesses.

Fortunately there are a ton of different online marketplaces you can find and hire freelancers to take on small projects. A few of these platforms are Fiverr.com and Upwork.com.

Planning tips:

  1. Use to do list apps to track your tasks
Trying to keep your to do list in your head? Please don’t!

There are a slew of apps you can use to get organized in the New Year. A few of my favorite apps are Todoist and Wunderlist.

  2. Create a solid plan of action template for your business activities
An action plan is simply a document that lists out all of the actions you need to take to manage and grow your business.

Google docs is a free cloud-based application you can use to create action plans for your company.

Although it’s best to perform a lot of the tips and planning activities mention today towards the end of the year there’s no better time like the present.

I hope these tips have been helpful for you and I invite you to visit me over at my new website YourChicGeek.com.

Cheers!
