TDS Introduces Hosted IP Solution for Businesses in Va. Service Now Available in 16 States

TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) is introducing a new IP-based communications solution for businesses in Amelia, Va. This is the first area in Virginia, and the sixteenth state overall, where TDS now offers the service to businesses.

Known as TDS managedIP Hosted, this Internet Protocol (IP) communications solution integrates voice and data as a single communications solution.

TDS understands the struggles businesses face. The economy is tough, but things are improving. TDS managedIP Hosted can help area businesses improve, without impacting the bottom-line (since there is no up-front capital expense).

TDS managedIP provides businesses with improved productivity and greater efficiencies. And, unlike many voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services, TDS managedIP Hosted never uses the public Internet.

“TDS managedIP is delivered over a private, secure, and dedicated network hosted at a secure TDS facility,” says Nick Ruskowski, market manager for TDS. “Because it comes without upfront costs or capital expenses, there’s no reason for businesses to wait any longer to upgrade their communications system.”

Just ask the radio station in Farragut, Tenn. They made the switch to TDS managedIP service and discovered they’re more available to customers, which means more sales. Or ask the insurance agency with offices in four Wisconsin cities. After making the switch to TDS managedIP, they eliminated long distance toll charges to simply call their own offices—saving a few hundred dollars a month.

OK, you’re thinking, “Really, my phone system?”

Yes, but it’s not any phone system. The true benefit, according to TDS, is that businesses can focus on their business while TDS manages, protects, and upgrades the communications system—at no additional cost.

TDS managedIP Hosted offers businesses many real-time benefits, including:

  •     No upfront capital expense. Only pay for services needed. No need to worry about equipment becoming obsolete.
  •     Advanced call routing features ensure customers never get a busy signal, employee productivity improves, and revenues increase because all calls get through the first time.
  •     A single phone number for employees to give to clients, while still maintaining the ability to manage incoming calls. One phone number can be set to ring through to multiple phones (office, cell, and home) simultaneously.
  •     User friendly administration that offers flexibility to quickly and easily adjust to staffing changes or when employees simply switch work stations; saves both time and money.

The managedIP solution is part of a suite of new solutions TDS is introducing in the area. Other services include VoIP like services that allow businesses to enjoy some of the IP-based technology while continuing to use their current IP PBX or current phone system.
