Also, many people are starting to work for themselves or begin part-time, home based businesses in addition to their full-time jobs. No matter which category you fall into working from home has many benefits. It also has a few downfalls like a drop in production because of household distractions such as chores, kids or even the family pet. I know what you’re thinking, “But, I work for someone else. How do I figure out what produces the most income for my company or is most beneficial?” That’s simple, ask! You may not have a boss there with you, but don’t be afraid to reach out to your supervisor. Not only will you get the information you need, but you’ll also get some one-on-one time which will remind your superior that you do indeed still exist.

  2.

  3. Avoid digital communications until the end of the day
Many of us are addicted to the gadgets and gizmos that allow us to check social media and email. DON’T GET SUCKED INTO THE STATUS UPDATING, EMAIL CHECKING VORTEX! Avoid checking any emails or social media for the first two hours of your work day. If you can hone in on your most important activities for the first two hours of your day it will increase your productivity exponentially. You will get far more done if you wait until the end of the day to check emails and update your status.
  4.

  5. Double the time you spend on your most important task
Let’s say you work in sales. Your most important activity may be meeting with prospects or making sales calls. You should double the amount of time you spend doing that. If you currently spend an hour making calls or an hour in front of your potential customers, set a goal of two hours for yourself. That small change will dramatically affect your productivity.

Set yourself apart and take advantage of the benefits of telecommuting, by focusing on these three simple tips. If you follow these three tips consistently you will double your productivity and make 2015 your best year yet.
