Why are some people successful? Successful people don’t have extra time during the day. Every person on this planet has the same 24 hours. Successful people utilize their 24 hours differently.

In my opinion, personal development is a great way to separate yourself from the rest of the pack. I have found reading and books on tape to be effective ways of working on personal development. A few of my favorite authors are Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins and John C. Maxwell. I could go on but, these are a great place to start.

Personal development could be the key to unlocking the knowledge and secrets of the people you admire most. The authors I listed earlier and other successful people either had years of experience or did years of research before they published their first book. By reading that book or listening to that audio tape you may be able to cut years off of your learning curve and become successful sooner.

Imagine you only read one book a month in your field. How much further ahead do you think you would be? One book doesn’t sound like a lot, but one book a month for a year is 12 books. After five years, 60 books! Imagine the extra knowledge you would acquire and how you would tower over your competition.

If a book a month sounds intimidating start with something easy, like 10 pages a day. It’s easy to do but also easy not to do. By the end of the month you will have about 300 pages done or had read one to one and a half or maybe even two books. You could also listen to books on tape while driving and turn your car into a university on wheels.

I hope this will opens your eyes to the possibilities of adding something simple like personal development to your daily routine. I also hope many of you will take action and implement it in their daily lives.
