The rise of the mooching millennial

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere have been more than a few articles as of late written about millennials. Last week our very own Kris Prusynski wrote in her piece, Generations & Communications that millennials are poised to dominate the American workforce.

But for that to happen they need to have jobs first! In this piece on Fortune, author Nin-Hai Tseng, talks about how more and more millennials are living at home and what that’s doing to the all important housing market.

It’s rough to be a recent college graduate, not just because of the job market but also because of student loans. Even if you get an entry level job in your field you may not make enough money to pay your loans AND live away from home.

Agreed. I didn’t get into my field until my third job after college. Even then I only made minimum wage. Luckily, the area I was living in had a very low cost of living. If it hadn’t there is no way I would have been able to survive.
