Use social media, grow your email lists

Social media is at work in many aspects of our lives.

Maybe you use Facebook to keep in touch with family. Maybe you came across this blog post while browsing Twitter. While you may be active across social media platforms personally, hopefully you’re also taking advantage of the vast online networks for your business, too.

We’ve touched on the ways your business may be making mistakes on social media, but there are also plenty of ways social media platforms can help you generate leads and gain customers.

Business 2 Community has a great article about how to use social media to organically grow your email lists. In fact, it refers to Facebook and Twitter as a B2C marketer’s best friends. These are the places your customers, fans, and potential customers go to interact with you on a day to day basis. That’s a powerful tool, and Business 2 Community suggests harnessing their potential to grow your businesses contact list organically.

With Facebook, it’s simple, the article states. All you need to do is redirect your Facebook fans to your business’s subscription page. Here’s how:

Create a sign up call-to-action below your Facebook banner. To do so, click on the “Create Call-to-Action” button of your page – you’ll only have the power to do so if you’re a page admin. You’ll then be able to select the action (“Contact us”, “Shop now”, “Learn more” to name a few). Since you can only have one CTA on your banner, you’ll have to choose according to your needs. If you’re looking to grow your email contact list, we recommend you select the “Sign up” button.

Pretty easy, right? Within three clicks, your Facebook fans can now be subscribed to your newsletter.

Simple marketing tactics are right at your fingertips. Make sure you’re being hands on.
